Why do my photos look different when printed?

There are two possible answers as to why your photographs may appear different once printed (versus how they looked when viewing them online).
1. Color Space
  • Your photographs will be saved in sRGB, which is the most commonly used color space for printing.
  • If printing at home, or a lab that doesn't use sRGB, you may result in very harsh-toned prints.
2. Print Lab
  • One could question, if you're paying for professional photographs, why would you have Wally World or Walgreen's print your images? But none the less, it happens often.
  • You can find a lot of lengthy blogs about "where to print my photographs" floating around on the internet, but in short, we believe that professional photos need to be printed by a professional lab.
  • Using labs such as Walgreens, Target, Walmart - can result in your photographs having a cooler tone, harsh contrast, green tones, and more (from what we've heard). If quality is important to you, and we hope it is, then spend the little extra to have your images handled with care.
