We are so grateful that this family hired us yearly to photograph their boys; we've photographed them since birth, can you believe it. And what makes it so special is they decide together each year what the theme of the shoot will be. This year the boys were really into The Sandlot movie, so for Nolan's birthday we headed to the baseball field. Juno, their dog, was a great sport and tagged along.
What's a day in the life of your child's shoes? For this one...after school was time spent in his playroom and going to his favorite playground. This may be one of our favorite lifestyle shoots so far this year. There's something magical about letting the ordinary things in life be beautiful.
It's not always easy getting 5 kids and 2 adults to smile together towards the camera for a photograph, but we think all the moments in between are just as perfect.
Little Harper visited us all the way from Arizona for her first photos. Mom and Dad have a soft spot for San Diego and we're so honored that they contacted us to spend the afternoon with them in the park.
It's not every day I get asked to photograph a lifestyle session where mom and her little sweet pea are planning to ice skate and run on the beach - but in the month of December in Southern California, that's exactly what happened.
My hope for 2017? Folks invite me to come along for their next family adventure. Going on a hike? I'll grab my hiking shoes. Day at the beach? No problem, I'll grab the sunscreen. Picnic in the park for mother's day? I'll meet you there! The possiblitites are endless.
This year we met a handful of families at the La Mesa Train Depot for some quick mini sessions. It wasn't your typical holiday session with Santa, but the kids seemed to enjoy playing on the train!
Nolan is turning 2 next month and we had an awesome little shoot over on the military base last week. He's really into aviation at the moment, so mom did a great job of finding his appareal. Look out Tom Cruise! If you'd like me to play tag and hide and seek with your kid with camera in hand - don't hesitate to call!
The Griffith Family is such a special family to me. Our paths only cross every few years (Tracy my cousin living in TN) as we manage to end up in PA visiting our grandmother. This year we timed it perfectly as the trees changed those beautiful orange, red and yellow tones.
Last Monday evening Aiden told me all about how real Jedi's were coming to his Birthday party this year to teach him real Jedi moves. I'm not going to lie - kind of stoked this year I may actually get to attend his birthday party. AND secretly want to learn a few Jedi moves. Truly hoping the best for Aiden (who should get the "big brother of the year award") on his Birthday this year!
Nolan turns 1! I can't believe it's been a year since I took his newborn photos. It's true - time does fly! We pulled off this quick little portrait session, just before his birthday party. It was complete with his big brother Aiden, who I've photographed every year since birth too, and Mom and Dad.
Amy and her daughter created a little warm spot in my heart the day of their session. They enjoy the beach, so it was only natural we met in La Jolla Cove to photograph. A few seals on the beach and waves chasing our toes made for a lot of giggles. Wishing these two a very merry everything this holiday season!
It's amazing that tomorrow is December 1st! Where have the last 11 months gone? The holiday spirit was definitely present during the mini sessions this year. We gathered in a park near downtown San Diego and rolled out a bunch of fun for these families. Extra kudos to my new assistant (and mentee) Christian!
The holidays are certainly upon us and I've been dying to share more of these family photographs. Jada and Jud have one of the cutest baby boys I've ever seen. His giggles are contagious! Wishing this family the happiest of holidays ahead!
I'm so excited that this mom asks to photograph her son yearly. I was there when this little man was just a week old and I can't believe next month he turns 4! Each year she pays extra attention to what he happens to be in love with and this year it was all about backhoes and excavators. What better place to take your 4 year old for a photo shoot than the Hawthorne CAT Construction Equipment Supplier location in San Bernardo?!
The location worked out perfect! They have three large pieces of equipment in front of their doors; which made for the perfect backdrop for this big boy. He had the time of his life posing on each one :)
Cindy was a past bride of mine and I we've always kept in touch. I couldn't wait to meet her little girl Sophia! She'll be turning one soon and we had the best little mini session last week in Poway. Not only did the bright balloons and pink dress make the shoot a success but Sophia's big smile and sparkling eyes did too! Happy Birthday Sophia!
We're getting fired up for Halloween and for Aiden's birthday celebration this weekend. I can't thank this family enough for letting me be a part of their family photographs year after year. I always have an amazing time. Mom puts so much time and energy into her boy's birthday theme and this year was no different. Big shout out to the Sycuan Fire Department for giving us a tour and even allowing Aiden to practice with a fire drill near the station.
Our photography blog is a collaboration of recent work, inspiration, resources and some days - just awesome fun stuff.
Weddings & Engagements are extra special, so we've created a site just to showcase all that love...
