Oh my goodness everyone! The Front Step Project has me shook! I received almost 80 requests within 2 1/2 weeks and as I'm writing this tonight, I still have dozens on a waiting list. There is still so much joy going on in the world, in our homes and I'm so happy I've been able to capture them (from a safe distance) and allow folks a good reason to get some fresh air. Can you believe we had 70 donations to 42 different charities? The love and generosity our San Diego community has is inspiring to say the least. I genuinely enjoyed meeting so many smiling faces over the past few weeks; from the military wives that haven't seen their deployed husband in 18 months, to the frontline nurses working with COVID patients, to the stay at home moms who whispered on the side they put make-up on for the first time in weeks - Thank you for trusting in me to capture your wild, anything but normal moment in time right now. Families selected to donate to the following charities:

I can't begin to explain the overwhelming response I've had within 1 week of joining the Front Steps Project (aka Front Porch Project) (aka Porchtraits Project). The sole purpose of this (nationwide) documentary movement is to bring communities together in a time of isolation.
I've met first-time expecting moms, nurses working with COVID positive patients, stay-at-home parents that are holding it together like champs, and furry friends of all sizes! My hope is these portraits will one day be looked back upon as a documentary of a time when we all realized how much we truly have to be grateful for. Sessions are about 10 mins, free of cost - I’ve simply asked folks to donate to a local charity in need right now. If you’re interested, please feel free fill out the project form. It's beginning to smell a lot like the holidays around here; which is making us reflect back on a recent mommy & me session we did with two of our clients. In-home sessions are some of our favorites. It allows clients to let their hair down, dance like nobody's watching and even have a little flour fight while baking some cookies. These are the times we cherish forever right? So why not invest into having them captured so you can look back and savor them forever.
This session is so near and dear to our hearts; as this little family has become so close to ours. Our boys were born just days apart but it wasn't until around 2 months when we met. We are so grateful for their friendship and for allowing us to photograph them as they grow! #lafamilia
The hispanic culture is a top priority for this family; so we jumped at the chance to photograph them in the bright and multi-culture park of Barrio Logan. At its heart is Chicano Park, with dozens of murals depicting the community’s past activism, alongside images of notable figures like Frida Kahlo. $149, 20 minutes, 20+ images (up to 6 people) Includes edited high resolution digital images (a minimum of 20) for you to download from a private online gallery with printing rights. Sessions Dates and Times:
If sessions are full or you’d like to book a private session at a different location, please email me at [email protected] or text me at 814-730-1778. Important steps to complete your booking and reserve your time slot: 1. Complete payment (non-refundable) via PayPal or Venmo: Please contact directly for alternative payment options if needed. 2. Complete contract. Looking forward to seeing everyone this year!
What's a day in the life of your child's shoes? For this one...after school was time spent in his playroom and going to his favorite playground. This may be one of our favorite lifestyle shoots so far this year. There's something magical about letting the ordinary things in life be beautiful.
It's not always easy getting 5 kids and 2 adults to smile together towards the camera for a photograph, but we think all the moments in between are just as perfect.
Little Harper visited us all the way from Arizona for her first photos. Mom and Dad have a soft spot for San Diego and we're so honored that they contacted us to spend the afternoon with them in the park.
Spending time with a family vacationing from Kansas City. While the weather was cool, sand in the toes was perfect for this family visiting during the winter months. Keeping the moments real and unfiltered.
It's not every day I get asked to photograph a lifestyle session where mom and her little sweet pea are planning to ice skate and run on the beach - but in the month of December in Southern California, that's exactly what happened.
My hope for 2017? Folks invite me to come along for their next family adventure. Going on a hike? I'll grab my hiking shoes. Day at the beach? No problem, I'll grab the sunscreen. Picnic in the park for mother's day? I'll meet you there! The possiblitites are endless. This year we met a handful of families at the La Mesa Train Depot for some quick mini sessions. It wasn't your typical holiday session with Santa, but the kids seemed to enjoy playing on the train!
I love that every year, Liz and Eric carve out time around their anniversary for a very special date night, which includes dinner at one of their favorite restaurants in the Gaslamp and a quick photo shoot (for the upcoming holiday). It also makes me happy to see them both so comfortable in front of the camera after 4 years :)
The Griffith Family is such a special family to me. Our paths only cross every few years (Tracy my cousin living in TN) as we manage to end up in PA visiting our grandmother. This year we timed it perfectly as the trees changed those beautiful orange, red and yellow tones.
Jeanette came to my rescue earlier this summer as a hair & make-up stylist for a photography related gig. I was over the moon with her work and professionalism. It was only natural that I returned the favor and took some family photos for her.
2 years ago to the date, I photographed these two getting married. I couldn't be happier they came back from Guam and contacted me for a family session. Their littlest addition to the family is oh so precious and sweet!
This little family of 4 is packed full of smiles, laughs and adventures. From Keith being a rockstar chef, to Holly and her chickens being a egg-prenuers - their family shoot was nothing short of eventful surprises.
A little over 10 years ago, I drove to Mexico to photograph these two getting married. Nina's son at the time stood beside them at the altar in front of their closest friends and family. It was an incredible celebration. Fast forward to earlier this month. They traveled all the way from Abu Dhabi, where they currently live with their 3 kids, to visit with family in San Diego. I was overjoyed when Nina contacted me for some family photographs.
Nolan turns 1! I can't believe it's been a year since I took his newborn photos. It's true - time does fly! We pulled off this quick little portrait session, just before his birthday party. It was complete with his big brother Aiden, who I've photographed every year since birth too, and Mom and Dad.
For those of you that follow me on social media, you may have seen the teaser post I did of my in-laws before the holidays. They've been together for over 50 years and Mrs. Willson recently celebrated 70 years. It's amazing to see so much love and laughter between the two of them. They hadn't had portraits taken in years so it only seemed fitting on their last visit that we took a scroll around the Bonita Valley golf course during sunset to capture a few great images.
Melissa and Joe's blended family was such a breeze to photograph before the holiday season. We only had a small window to photograph all of them with the oldest in-between college and studying aboard. Wishing them all the best in 2016 as they plan for their wedding. Cheers!
