We're often telling our clients how important custom photography is. Sure, stock photography is good when you're in a pinch but nothing beats a custom library of photographs that only your company can use. That's just what we delivered for our recent corporate client.
We assist with compiling a shot list, staging tips, and lighting/execution. Big thanks to the staff for being the great talent and Ankerman Artistry for their skills in making everyone look 100%. If you or your company is interested in content photography, please contact us!

Hotel Palomar, located in the downtown area of San Diego, has been hard at work remodeling their pool deck. Don't wait for summer to start, you can scoot on over and have enjoy the sun with a fresh margarita and fish tacos any day of the week!
As a photographer, it's always rewarding seeing my work around town in clients marketing and but I can't lie when I say it made me a little giddy to be driving down the freeway a few weeks ago and unexpectedly see a photograph up on a billboard near downtown San Diego. Thank You Coleman University and Thank You to this lovely little family and graduate from last year you modeled so well during graduation.
Mister Brown's is a hip new barber shop + social space that's on the rise in North Park. In December, they were on the local news being featured for their one day event where they gave away free shaves. With an end to the trendy "Movember Mustaches", gentlemen kept flowing through the doors. Mister Brown's isn't you're usual barber shop though! It's an upscale joint with some of the finest trained barbers in town. What makes this place unique is the social aspect of it all. You're more than welcome to watch some sports on their flat screen or shoot a few games of pool before you leave (or while you wait). You can even rent the space for special events such as bachelor parties, pre-wedding space, you name it. Mister Brown's: A place for the gentlemen.
Several months ago I met with the marketing department at Coleman University to discuss their needs for some original photography (photography that showed their campus, their students, what they do). Purchasing stock photograph doesn't always fit the bill. We developed a 3 day photo shoot, which involved students and faculty and the fall graduation. It's a fantastic little campus and I had a great time meeting everyone as we completed our loosely directed photo shoot.
MShip is absolutely one my favorite clients of 2013. Not only do they have an awesome view of downtown and of the San Diego bay from their office window - they have awesome people that work there as well. We collaborated over the summer months on their new website and most recently I was hired to photograph in their office. They're kind of "a big darn deal" around San Diego with M80 Stiletto creating all sorts of waves over the years, but keep your eye out on them in the upcoming year. Until then, enjoy a few corporate photographs I took. Did I mention their view? Bill Burns (Co-Founder, Executive Director) above. Part of the MShip Co. team below.
Once again Altair Media and I had a successful photo shoot at the Postal Annex corporate office mock up store. Our first shoot with Postal Annex was several years ago. They've used the original photography we've shot so much since then, they needed to refresh their library of original photography.
Theresa at Altair seems to have a god-given talent to juggle models, hair and make-up artists, production schedules and client demands. While she's busy keeping everything pulled together - I do my thing behind the lens. Here's a few highlights from the photo shoot. Okay, lets be real - these aren't the greatest photographs, but they really excite me! I was at the Postal Annex corporate office last week (with Altair Media and the president of PA+) and I spotted these wall hangings. The photographs are from a few years back and the design work is from last year; where I put together a complete 2013 campaign collection of templates for the in-house Postal Annex team.
It's so great to see my design and photography work come together - I can't say it enough. Big thanks to Rachael Price Designs for the assistance on staging this photo shoot! For all you wine lovers, you'll need to sit tight till more details are released about this fancy item hitting southern California later this spring.
Good old Alpine Brewery - I'm so glad we met. Not only is your beer ever so wonderful, but your staff (especially Pat) is awesome too. Cheers to another appearance in the Beer West magazine.
Hungry for Pho? If you've never been to the OB Noodle house for Pho - well, that's a damn shame. It's the best place in town to get a Vietnamese/Asian Fusion dish. Next time you're in the Ocean Beach area, check it out. The owner is pretty kick ass, the food is awesome and the beer and saki can flow endlessly. Here's some of my images that appeared in the 2012 Spring Issue: Other Images from this shoot:
The City of San Diego was filming their 2008 PSAs, aka Public Service Announcements, over the course of a few weeks and asked if I could be on site to capture images for use in print materials. The production crew was awesome to work with. Out subject matter ranged from irrigation systems to – no shit - Pet Waste. Needless to say we had some good laughs. The PSAs won several 2008 Emmy’s for concept and execution.
