I'm happy to announce I've partnered with Pixieset! It's a lovely way for me to create private collections of all my client's photography work. Pixieset will make purchasing prints and canvases a breeze and most important - your order will be produced at the White House Custom Colour lab! They not only pride themselves on the quality of product they produce but they believe speed matters as well (most orders ship within 48hrs). What does partnering with Pixieset mean to my clients? It means if you book a photo session with me you'll be able to view your photographs in a beautiful private online gallery. You'll be able to pick favorites and share with your family and friends - and when it comes to a wedding, let's face it - that's important! (who wants to be taking photo orders from all their guest after the wedding). Below you'll see a few screenshots that will help walk you through what you may experience on your gallery. 1. You'll receive an email with a link to our private online gallery. You'll get really excited as you move your mouse over to enter the gallery. You'll be asked to enter your email address and a passcode (which was provided in the email) 2. Open you collection and see your images in a mosaic display. Click on any image to enlarge. 3. Easily add an image as your favorite, add it to your cart or share! Because sharing is caring after all! Feel free to share one image or share the entire collection (to share the entire collection, use the appropriate icon at the top of the gallery). 4. Grab a tissue and wipe the tears, most clients experience these emotions after viewing their photos. Get your shopping cart full of your favorite prints and head to the check out. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3 - just enter your shipping and payment info and your order should arrive within a few days.
Enjoy!

We're getting fired up for Halloween and for Aiden's birthday celebration this weekend. I can't thank this family enough for letting me be a part of their family photographs year after year. I always have an amazing time. Mom puts so much time and energy into her boy's birthday theme and this year was no different. Big shout out to the Sycuan Fire Department for giving us a tour and even allowing Aiden to practice with a fire drill near the station.
It was so great to be in Balboa Park photographing such an awesome event. After having worked with the Marketing department at Coleman University on some commercial photography work, they invited me to be their main photographer for their graduation this past fall. I look forward to photographing more graduations for the University in the future. Thanks to Stephen my second shooter that day! And a BIG - Congrats to all the 2014 Grads!
Who doesn't love Fridays! It's the perfect day of the week to grab a beer, kick up your feet and - hey! browse some photographs from your travel to Baja Mexico earlier in the year. Let's start the journey off with a photo of Jesus's last supper with a taco. We stopped here to grab a bite on our way to La Bufadora. Off to Popotla Fishing Village...<-- Mi amigos on this two day road trip. I'm so excited for Shanah's little baby girl that is to arrive in about a month. Our lives get so busy sometimes and I'm always happy when clients take a moment to relax and have it captured on film like Shanah did here. As we walked along this beautiful little trail in Bonita, we chatted about how lovely it would be to photograph her and her little one when she gets older at the same location. Wishing her the best the last few weeks of her pregnancy :)
In the year 2014, having a blended family isn't uncommon. And while this family technically falls into that category, they are so far beyond any cookie-cutter label that our society could give them. Most might need a diagram more complex than the NYC subways to follow their family tree, but the end result is a family full of smiles.
Over the course of several years, there's been 3 marriages, 4 children, tears, laughs, and a lot of love. Sheri actually used the phrase "…my framibly" during the shoot which seemed to suit this unique group. Her son Taylor has been traveling to LA for some acting experience - you'll see a few headshots of him below. He's been seen in a number of shows already aired and I'm confident this little man is going to go the distance. Words can't begin to express how excited and honored I am that I received the 2014 San Diego A List Award for Best Wedding Photographer! I absolutely owe so much thanks to my supporters, for those that voted and for my colleagues I've learned so much from in the past few years. It's really helped changed my work and the way I've run my business.
A special thanks to my assistant photographers and social media interns for helping me kick start this site (an extension of "Amy Millard Graphic Design & Photography" at the beginning of the year and really make it happy. Don't miss Jay and Andy on the wedding blog today! I had an absolute blast photographing the two of them :)
http://www.creativeweddingsbyamy.com/blog/jay-andy-engagement-paradise-point-san-diego-ca Jacob, the oldest below, is probably headed off to college this week - which indicates this blog is WAY overdue. Nothing crazy, just a few images captured at this party earlier this summer. Loving the green tones in these family photos.
At the beginning of the summer, I had the pleasure of photographing at Mister Brown's again. Lee, the owner of Mister Brown's, invited me over to capture the evening as it unfolded. If you recall, I had blogged about Mister Brown's soft opening several months prior. Things are in full swing at the shop now, so if you're in the area - be sure to swing by and check the space out.
It's no secret, I love being around self-empowered entrepreneurs, but when it's a group of females - it makes it all the sweeter. Speaking of sweet, I can begin to say how lovely Kim, owner of The Rockefeller Center is. Even though the temperatures peaked last Thursday during the soft opening, she managed to keep her cool and attend to every guest needs. Be sure to find them online at: http://therockefellercenter.com. Below you'll find a video piece (first of it's kind for me) put together with a mixture of stills and video clips from the evening. enjoy! Below are a few of the highlighted images.
I was so honored last month, when Gia's mother asked me to photograph their private catholic baptism at the St. Therese of Carmel church last month. It was a lovely service with only family and close friends - and extremely moving. I wish Gia all the luck in the upcoming years. She's truly a little angel! We even managed to have time for a little mini session - Gia changed her outfit for her baptism party of course!
I had a great little getaway to the San Jose area a few weeks ago. It was extremely relaxing and peaceful (quite the opposite from my normal fast paced day to day routine). I enjoyed three great photoshoots while there. Below are two of them - one in a near by local park and the other at the San Jose Japanese Friendship Garden. I hope to make these trips up north a yearly adventure.
I was so excited to meet up with this little family last week at the Mission Trails Regional Park! I ALMOST had as much excitement and energy as Ben did. Lana and Mary have been together for several years living here in San Diego and little Ben had his 3rd Birthday not to long ago. Mission Trails is a place they visit often, in fact they celebrated Ben's 3rd birthday down by the river. We had a blast skipping around on the trails and playing by the waters edge for a few hours. I think it was safe to say, Ben was exhausted (and I was too) after our fun little adventure. I hope the family loves these photographs as much as I do! Best to all three of you.
Wyatt! What a cutie!
This little man is pretty stinkin' adorable. He was about 10 days old during this mini shoot. Can't wait to see him grow.
Every now and then I seem to find a little pocket of time to work on a personal project and this weekend was it! I finally got around to editing these images I took in a small town of Northwestern, PA called Sugar Grove.

Over on the new blog at CreativeWeddingsByAmy.com are some selfie engagement photos I took a few weeks ago.
It was quite the adventure to get these photos. Hello Followers! In case you missed the last blog, I've moved my wedding photography work to a new site (creativeweddingsbyamy.com). And guess what?!? We have our first 2014 wedding up on the new blog. Check it out at: Tony & Madelyn's Wedding
Mister Brown's is a hip new barber shop + social space that's on the rise in North Park. In December, they were on the local news being featured for their one day event where they gave away free shaves. With an end to the trendy "Movember Mustaches", gentlemen kept flowing through the doors. Mister Brown's isn't you're usual barber shop though! It's an upscale joint with some of the finest trained barbers in town. What makes this place unique is the social aspect of it all. You're more than welcome to watch some sports on their flat screen or shoot a few games of pool before you leave (or while you wait). You can even rent the space for special events such as bachelor parties, pre-wedding space, you name it. Mister Brown's: A place for the gentlemen.
Ceremony & Reception: Marina Village
Florist: Mission Hills Florist Caterer: Cupid's Catering Cake/Cupcakes: Babycakes Dress: Tailor Love by Carla DJ: Elite British DJ Coordinator: The Best Wedding For You I can't say it loud enough! This couple is a match made in heaven. Their story is crazy…They've know each other for decades but just recently go reacquainted and within a few months-engaged! In fact, we scheduled engagement photographs and they happened to run off to Vegas and get married before we shot them. (Which means my Blog title isn't completely accurate I guess.) At any rate; these two plan to have a full wedding in 2014. I couldn't be happier for the two of them. We had so much fun hoping around the Paradise Point Resort last weekend taking photos.
Several months ago I met with the marketing department at Coleman University to discuss their needs for some original photography (photography that showed their campus, their students, what they do). Purchasing stock photograph doesn't always fit the bill. We developed a 3 day photo shoot, which involved students and faculty and the fall graduation. It's a fantastic little campus and I had a great time meeting everyone as we completed our loosely directed photo shoot.
