Julie & Todd's Wedding Photographs are over on the wedding blog. It was beautiful so be sure to take a look! Click Below.
Nolan turns 1! I can't believe it's been a year since I took his newborn photos. It's true - time does fly! We pulled off this quick little portrait session, just before his birthday party. It was complete with his big brother Aiden, who I've photographed every year since birth too, and Mom and Dad.
For those of you that follow me on social media, you may have seen the teaser post I did of my in-laws before the holidays. They've been together for over 50 years and Mrs. Willson recently celebrated 70 years. It's amazing to see so much love and laughter between the two of them. They hadn't had portraits taken in years so it only seemed fitting on their last visit that we took a scroll around the Bonita Valley golf course during sunset to capture a few great images.
Melissa and Joe's blended family was such a breeze to photograph before the holiday season. We only had a small window to photograph all of them with the oldest in-between college and studying aboard. Wishing them all the best in 2016 as they plan for their wedding. Cheers!
Amy and her daughter created a little warm spot in my heart the day of their session. They enjoy the beach, so it was only natural we met in La Jolla Cove to photograph. A few seals on the beach and waves chasing our toes made for a lot of giggles. Wishing these two a very merry everything this holiday season!
This dynamic little family was so full of energy as we played in Kate O. Sessions park in Pacific Beach a few weeks ago. I've known Devra as a client and friend for several years. The journey this family has embraced over the past few years as Ari has battled cancer is simply inspirational. Truly wishing them the best holidays ahead!
It's amazing that tomorrow is December 1st! Where have the last 11 months gone? The holiday spirit was definitely present during the mini sessions this year. We gathered in a park near downtown San Diego and rolled out a bunch of fun for these families. Extra kudos to my new assistant (and mentee) Christian!
A few months ago I was devastated when an external hard drive crashed and I lost a lot of valuable photographs. I’ll spare you the long story, but the stress it caused has inspired me to remind everyone around me the importance of allowing your photograph to live outside of our digital world. I'm over the moon about Marisa and Scott's holiday portraits. They ooze with so much lovey dovey goodness! Being that Marisa is a fellow photographer herself, I was honored to get her on the other side of the lens.
The holidays are certainly upon us and I've been dying to share more of these family photographs. Jada and Jud have one of the cutest baby boys I've ever seen. His giggles are contagious! Wishing this family the happiest of holidays ahead!
5th Annual Crew Rendezvous: CHIP (Community Health Improvement Partners) Event Photography11/2/2015
The 5th Annual Crew Rendezvous for Community Health Improvement Partners was such an exciting evening! The energy in this room was absolutely great to be around and I couldn't be happier they asked me to capture it!
Husband and wife team Scott and Debra Salyer are the founders and heart behind Wren HiFi. They have love for designing and building commissioned furniture pieces and VINYL! The combination of these two loves led them to the birth of Wren HiFi Record Consoles.
These two are so ahead of the curve, that Scott was recently contacted by GQ in Germany. They're in the process of writing up an article of him and his work. Which bring us to last weekend - we cranked out a quick little shoot for them at Mister Brown's Barber Shop in North Park where you can find their prototype of the their record consoles. Hopefully we'll be seeing a copy of the GQ issue in the near future. I'm so excited that this mom asks to photograph her son yearly. I was there when this little man was just a week old and I can't believe next month he turns 4! Each year she pays extra attention to what he happens to be in love with and this year it was all about backhoes and excavators. What better place to take your 4 year old for a photo shoot than the Hawthorne CAT Construction Equipment Supplier location in San Bernardo?!
The location worked out perfect! They have three large pieces of equipment in front of their doors; which made for the perfect backdrop for this big boy. He had the time of his life posing on each one :) As a photographer, it's always rewarding seeing my work around town in clients marketing and but I can't lie when I say it made me a little giddy to be driving down the freeway a few weeks ago and unexpectedly see a photograph up on a billboard near downtown San Diego. Thank You Coleman University and Thank You to this lovely little family and graduate from last year you modeled so well during graduation.
Masdar, a Musbadala company, that invests in renewable energy and technology visited San Diego last month for an annual convention. While here they were here, they hosted a small private event in Balboa Park at the Prado. It was a beautiful evening which included a few awards through out cocktail hour for guests. Thanks to The Prado and Sushi on a Roll for some delicious looking dishes.
When I first met Ashley from Adore Wedding Design, she immediately reminded me of my life long grade school BFF with her soft spoken voice and sweet disposition. Once I found out she was a transplant from the east coast...it all made sense! (Since I'm from the east coast as well.)
I absolutely admire Ashley's talent and eye for design for weddings. It's been such a great year getting to know her and her business. You can check her website out here: www.adoreweddingdesign.com or find her on all the major social media sites. When it comes to the taking care of the details for your next pirate themed corporate company party, be sure to hire San Diego Events Company. The time and energy they put into every detail for the VACO celebration hosted at the Green Acre Nautilus venue was was outstanding!
Guests were entertained with various pirate themed games, a fortune teller, a "live" mermaid, a fun Photo Booth and delicious food from Stuffed Food Trucks. Check out the details in the photos below! Meet Jessica. She's as vibrant in photographs as she is in person. Our story actually began on social media! Jessica has one impressive background (Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Business) which in a whirlwind of combining it with her other passions led her the land of entrepreneurship and - WEDDINGS!
She started Bluestocking Weddings & Events in 2014. She creates a unique experience for each of her clients. Be sure to check out her site at www.bluestockingevents.com or find her over on the social media sites. It's been an exciting end of summer with a number of blogs picking up photographs I've shot over the past year. You may recall seeing images of Lana, Mary and Ben. I couldn't be happier that their little story made it as a full spread in the Gay Wedding and Marriage Fall 2015 Issue. Their family has such much love and I hope their story inspires others!
Printed issues are available at Barnes & Nobles or you can view the digital issue at the following link (page 50): http://issuu.com/gayweddingsmagazine/docs/fall15_gwmdigital Have you been to the wedding blog lately?
