Over on the new blog at CreativeWeddingsByAmy.com are some selfie engagement photos I took a few weeks ago.
It was quite the adventure to get these photos. Hello Followers! In case you missed the last blog, I've moved my wedding photography work to a new site (creativeweddingsbyamy.com). And guess what?!? We have our first 2014 wedding up on the new blog. Check it out at: Tony & Madelyn's Wedding
Ceremony & Reception: Marina Village
Florist: Mission Hills Florist Caterer: Cupid's Catering Cake/Cupcakes: Babycakes Dress: Tailor Love by Carla DJ: Elite British DJ Coordinator: The Best Wedding For You I can't say it loud enough! This couple is a match made in heaven. Their story is crazy…They've know each other for decades but just recently go reacquainted and within a few months-engaged! In fact, we scheduled engagement photographs and they happened to run off to Vegas and get married before we shot them. (Which means my Blog title isn't completely accurate I guess.) At any rate; these two plan to have a full wedding in 2014. I couldn't be happier for the two of them. We had so much fun hoping around the Paradise Point Resort last weekend taking photos.
I can't wait to photograph this couple's wedding next May. Besides being photogenic, who couldn't love Virginia's smile? It's contagious. She was ear to ear the entire shoot. Virginia had a few different ideas for her engagement shoot; some fun beach photos, a little rustic country style on nearby train tracks and a few personal ones at their home in Pacific Beach with their fairly new addition to the family.
If I didn't know better, I'd think these two fell off the Pacific Islands and rolled right onto the beaches of San Diego. Their passion for the islands is evident throughout their home (the location for the reception) and was prominent throughout their wedding day. A backyard filled with tall palms, hibistics plants, an oversized tiki statue and an alter with two surfboards and leis at Sunset Cliffs - what could be more fitting for these two? Andrea wore a beautiful yet simple wedding gown from the anthropogie wedding line; which fit her curves and personality like a glove. Matt sported an aqua bow tie (mastered with a single try earlier that day) and matching socks. Their afternoon ceremony at the cliffs was intimate (shedding several tears) and joined by their closest family, friends and their two furry loved ones. After a few quick family photos, the bridal party headed to Kate O. Sessions Memorial Park in Pacific Beach for some playful portraits. Later we headed to their reception, a tropical oasis, in their backyard. The late afternoon was filled with mellow tunes, signature cocktails and lots of love and laughter in the air. Did I forget to mention the Tiki Bar and Street Tacos being served? This couple had their island style themed wedding nailed down to T. Ceremony: Sunset Cliffs Blvd.
Reception: Couple's Home in Pacific Beach Florist: Green Fresh Florals Caterer: Rica Taquizas Cake: Laurita's Cups & Cakes Dress: BHLDN (Antrho's line of bridal wear) Musicians: Charlie Morgan Co. Coordinator: Shae Stromme-Cannon I'm slightly over due about blogging Alicia & Carlos's wedding at the beginning of the month. However, my few weeks of editing photographs doesn't compare to the tedious time Alicia put into every detail of the big day. If you didn't know any better, you'd think these two got ready the morning of at a tropical oasis - but don't be fooled, it was merely the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. It made for a beautiful backdrop for their first look and portraits before the ceremony. The ceremony took place at Mission San Diego de Alcala, founded on July 16, 1769. You'd never know by looking at the photos, temperatures reached almost 100 degrees this afternoon - Alicia and Carlos didn't miss a beat. After a traditional catholic service, we were off to cocktail hour back at the Hyatt. The outdoor setting created for their reception was magical under the oversized trees and lighting. Afternoon turned into evening with delicious food, great music and hours of dancing. Ceremony: Mission San Diego de Alcala - http://www.missionsandiego.com

Okay, well actually Eric just needed another chance to warm up to the camera AND they decided to make their wedding theme more beach oriented so we decided a beach photo shoot would be ideal.
Black and white photographs are timeless; which is what I decided to showcase here. Plus they LOVE black and whites too. I'm really looking forward to photographing their wedding this upcoming November. A beautiful day to photograph at Sunset Cliffs - Congrats!
Tony, Venius and Baby Aiden sealed the deal this past weekend at their breath taking wedding location in Murrieta, CA. The wind was a little choppy at first, but nothing could hold back this beautiful ceremony and celebration. Congrats! Here's a sneak peak at a few photos
I can't express enough, how beautiful Scott and Katie's wedding was in the Dominican Republic. The weather was beautiful, the location was beautiful and the bride and groom were beautiful. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Gassner for giving me the opportunity to photograph such a memorable wedding event. |
